Children's Privacy Notice

Written in plain language for students and parents. Effective: August 19, 2026.

Plain-language summary: SlopeFactor only collects the information needed to let you practice algebra. We never sell it, never share it for ads, and never use it for anything other than helping you learn.

This notice is for you if you are under 13

SlopeFactor is an algebra practice tool for Maryland students. Federal law — the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) — gives special protections to children under 13. This notice explains what those protections mean for you.

What we collect — in plain language

When you use SlopeFactor, we save:

  • Your name and school email — so you can sign in with your school Google account.
  • Your practice answers — so we can show you what you got right and what to practice more.
  • Your progress — so your teacher can see how the class is doing (not your individual score without your permission).

We do NOT collect your home address, phone number, Social Security number, or any information about your health.

What we DO NOT do

  • We never sell your information to anyone.
  • We never show you ads based on your data.
  • We never share your data with companies trying to sell you things.
  • We never let strangers see your personal information.

How your school protects you

Your school signed an agreement with us. That agreement says we must protect your data under FERPA (a federal law protecting student records) and the Maryland Student Data Privacy Act. Your school is responsible for making sure your parents were told about SlopeFactor before you used it.

Your parents' rights

Your parents can:
  • Ask to see everything we have saved about you.
  • Ask us to delete your information.
  • Ask us to stop collecting new information about you (this means you won't be able to use SlopeFactor).

To do any of these things, your parent should email info@25alpha.ai or use our contact form. We will respond within 5 business days.

How long we keep your information

We keep your practice data for as long as you are a student, plus 7 years. After that, it is deleted. If your parent asks us to delete it sooner, we will.
